Even though I was an English major for four years, I wound up getting my degree in Software Design and going into tech. Still, I've been meaning to get back into writing, more for myself than anything else. So I'm intending to post here more frequently.
Mostly I intend to post thoughts about games, movies, music, and books. One really good idea someone suggested to me was to write about Steam demos I play during Steam Next Fest, and one of those just went by, so I'll probably be writing about that.
I've also been getting into game development, so as I start working on that more, I'll probably write about that a little bit here and there.
Neocities is INCREDIBLY basic, so much so that it actually becomes a little bit of an impediment at times. Making new pages is actually pretty tedious (at least it is with the default Zonelets template), and Neocities doesn't seem to have support for scripting beyond the most basic JavaScript.
Still, I made a little workaround to make my life easier. I wrote a basic Python script that generates a new HTML page and post details to slot into my script.js, and I downloaded a Neocities plugin for VS Code that lets me push my code changes from my computer to Neocities. It's still a little manual, and maybe someone who knows more about web design and web frameworks could do something a bit easier or more elegant. But it works pretty smoothly so far.
More updates soon.
